Hi guys;

After fooling around with Mame for a couple of years on my PC, I'm finally getting around to putting it in a cabinet. I was given a old P.O.W cab that has seen hard times. I don't know if  it was always a P.O.W machine as the only artwork on the cab is the marquee. I seem to remember from my youth, local arcades reusing cabinets when machines weren't paying anymore.

The machine has a metal panel and I plan on removing the joysticks and buttons as they are very old and in hard shape. I plan on purchasing the following for the control panel.

I-pac
2 mag-stik plus
6 player buttons per stik
4 control buttons ( coin, esc, enter, menu)

do you think this is too much for such a small panel? Will these joysticks and standard buttons fit a metal panel?

I have a 21' CRT monitor now mounted in the cab and it turned out pretty nice (was worried it would be ghetto , lol) and im playing the games in the cabinet using a logitech wingman game pad...cant wait to get real arcade controls on the Go.

Still have to wire power so it all starts with one switch and mount the speakers. other than that just some fooling around with the front end to manage the roms and snaps so i dont have unplayable games in there...i.e. trackball, duplicates, or incomplete roms

Here's my panel, it's 26" wide x 12" deep panel:

It's very comfortable with 2 players  :)

That looks sharp...and Ive already been thinking about building my own cab from scratch and including trackball and more room...but on this project i was hoping to keep the original panel..just nto sure if the metal one will work with those ultrmac mag-stik plus.

Im also trying to find a mountable ashtray for the game...anybody remember those in the arcades? lol times have changed

In the arcades around me, ashtray was the other name for the player 2 start button.  ;D
