| What size hole to drill for buttons, joysticks? |

Yea, I've heard bad things about the spade bit but never really had anything go wrong using one. I have hole saws, too. It seems like a hole saw would give you a straighter hole in that it all rests on top of the wood, but I'm not sure it matters much if a button is on a 2 degree angle. I plan to back the control panel with another board. Thanks for the tip. |

You won't have much luck drilling a hole with one of those :P I do know someone who tried to use one as a spanner on his bike :dizzy: As the guys said for most holes you want a 1 1/18" (28mm) forstner bit ideally using a drill press with some scrap wood backing for the most accurate, clean and straight holes. |

I wish I knew someone with a drill press. Would've made for a much better panel than what I wound up with. A drill works well enough, but a press would've been nice to have. |
