I came across this sighting in the wild this past weekend at the OMSI in Portland. I have been there many times, but have never seen this exhibit. It is a Pac-Man game they are using to demonstrate how your hand-eye coordination will become impaired when your BAC (Blood Alochol Content) gets above 0.08, hence the name Six-Pack Man. It is an actual Pac-Man, but they have it rigged so Pac's movements seriously lag behind your pushing the joystick. In fact, sometimes he won't even go the direction you push! It is pretty amusing.
The
OMSI is the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. It is a hands-on museum with interactive exhibits and tons of really great stuff. For me, it felt more like playing a game with a malfunctioning joystick than anything else... but maybe that's because my game play tends to get better after a few beers. OK, to a point... then it can be diminishing returns.
I just found this amusing, and though I would share.
