Word of advice, DON'T put an xarcade in your cabinet.  Very bad move indeed, you'll regret it greatly, believe me.  You'll save money by getting better parts if you just drill some holes in pieces of wood and get an Ipac, plus bob roberts parts.  You don't even have to get technical on the finish, just cover it with some white or black contact paper, it'll look fine, and feel great on your hands.  X-arcade's parts are cheap for a reason, and its not cuase they're generous guys.

Are their buttons and sticks junk?

I bought some and i figured if i hated em i could always swap em out.

they feel... different. the sticks are loose, they tend to slide out of center position and the buttons feel very cheap. it's not teh button i believe, it is the switch; they don't use cherrys. but for the price (of the joystick and buttons, not the hole panel), they are a good deal.

I think they're okay... i used them in my first project (a two player desktop controller) and keeping costs down was one of my goals when i started (whole project cost around ~$50)... I would definitely switch to happ stuff (or leaf-switch joysticks and buttons if I can afford it) when I decide to start an upright cab project...
