| Got dimensions of Simpsons (or equivalent) bezel? |
| (1/1) |
| jasonbar:
Howdy- I'm nearing completion of my MAME cabinet & am ready to lay out artwork for the screen bezel. The cabinet started life as a Simpsons (or other equivalent Konami 4P quarter-eater) & it was a gutted 2-slot Neo Geo when I got it. I just want to make sure that I get the proper width & height dimensions to get a nice fit. I think I've been working too long in aerospace & forget how loose tolerances in the real world can be! Not looking for the artwork or viewable area, since I've shoehorned a 27" monitor in there--just the outside width & height, please. Thanks! -Jason |

You work in aerospace but dont know how to use a tape measure? ;D |

Ouch! >:D :) Sure, I can measure the space between the cabinet left/sides, but what's the typical desired gap to leave? And for the height, how deep ought the bezel insert into the slot at the top? Thanks, -J |

Just playing with ya jasonbar, I work in aerospace too ;) I suppose it depends on the bezel that you are using, are you using a Happ 27" bezel or are you making your own? You can see the dimensions of the 27" Happ bezel [here]. If you are making your own you could base if off those dimensions. |

Thanks, Franco. I guess this brings up a good nomenclature question that I've been thinking about recently. I already have a solid black contoured bezel that contacts & frames my monitor (the same one you link to). What I'm looking for is the *flat* piece of glass or plastic that goes in front of the monitor and has decorative & informative artwork around it: the bezel! Am I mis-naming one of these items, or are both commonly called a "bezel"? Thanks, -J |
