| Small cabinet cp design |
| (1/1) |
| weasel:
I have a small poker cabinet that was turned into an arkanoid. But now Id like to turn it into a 60-1 but would like some knowledgeable opinions on a good control panel. I assume I only need three buttons and a stick but I would like to add a spinner just trying to figure out where everything should be placed. As info the cp is 19 inches long. Any advice appreciated |

My CP is 44cm wide (17.3") and whilst I have to admit that the cabinet has yet to be used in its current iteration, I've fitted all of this on. The you take a look at the most recent photo here, this should give you some idea of how I've done it. The start buttons and credit button aren't on the same surface, but I don't see that there's any need to have them all grouped with the game controls. |

Agreed. Check out the cabinets we build for an idea of how controls can be mounted in a limited space, yet still look uniform. Although we've never done a panel so small with a trackball, simply dropping it in place of where player 2 would usually be should be fine, assuming the surface panel is deep/wide enough to accommodate the trackball you intend to use, and you account for the large interior space the trackball housing takes up inside the control panel section. I highly reccommend the U-Trak from Ultimarc for it's 'contained' housing, easy mounting and lack of a need for a mounting plate. |

I am working on this and the cp is only 15" wide the U-track is the only full size trackball that would come close to fitting in mine and I still thad to modify it a bit to squeeze it in the game play is quite comfortable except the joystick is a little too close to the left side |
