I am currently dual modding my Hotrod SE arcade controller to work with both the PS3 and PC using the Cthulhu board and a terminal block to split the wiring.  Seems pretty easy so far!  The only thing is that for a dual player setup, you need two boards.  I tested the joystick and buttons and it's straight forward enough.

Unusual, an original question and a quick answer. Haven't had that combination in a while...

I used two of them for my Virtua Stick Pro (Astro City) panel mod.  They are very easy to use, and have zero lag, even on PS3.  The only downsides are that there are a lot of wires to strip and on PC, it is recognized as a joystick rather than a keyboard.  (Or, more accurately, a POV hat on a joystick).  This is a bit more difficult to use than a keyboard type encoder because you can use some MAME defaults with boards like the IPac.  Also, if you want to have a two player panel, you need two Cthulus, whereas with an Ipac (or any of the others) you usually only need one.

The Cthulu also doesn't support trackballs or spinners.

Long story short: if you want to build a MAME controller with all of the bells and whistles (like a trackball, spinner, multiple joysticks, etc.) use an Ipac or some other keyboard controller. If you only want to build a good joystick, the Cthulu is a better way to go.  I used them on the Astro City panel because it doesn't have a spot for a trackball or spinner and I'm intending to use it for PS3 also, but my main MAME panel is built around an Ultimarc Ipac2.

Im getting two of them sometime this week probably, about 2 weeks ago maybe a bit longer he updated it to be multi platform.  The MC version now supports Gamecube, PS2, PS1, PC, & PS3.  As well as having the ability to be programed with more down the road.

I have adapter boxes for my system on a switch so I can play with multi systems and this is going to be how I get Wii compatibility.   One of his boards is cheaper and WAY easier than hacking a PS3 pad so you cant go wrong.

Also look up his UPCB (universal pcb) it does the same stuff but it has a different way of approaching it.
