Visitor Q:
Well I guess it’s time for me to start a thread here.

So far I don’t have much to show but I guess that’s what this thread is for, step by step.

Ok well here we go…

Attached are pictures of my control panel overlay. A friend of mine printed it out and Scott at Mameroom laid it and cut it.

Dude.
That rig is ...very powerful...
Have you been reading the overclocking thread?  Can I ask why you chose that particular video card?  :blah:

Oh well.  I can totally get behind your CPO.  Very nice.

Yeah, I saw that thread but have found really no need to overclock my system as of yet... Key word "yet".

I chose that video card because it was a good deal at the time I was buying the rest of the stuff shown here, in fact I bought it all in one shot other than the storage drives. Today I just purchased a 1.5tb drive for an external enclosure, current drive being the 1tb that is getting install in this box on the weekend.

At any rate, I sorta drifted off there. The video card is branded as ASUS but it is really ATI I guess either built or spec'd to ASUS's likings. It's a great card and I would have gone with the 4870 at the time but I believe it was close to 100 bucks more, not sure what it is currently. Since I don't plan on using this for PC gaming at all other than new Street Fighter when it comes out, this is even somewhat overkill for my emulation project... However for me, better too much than too little.  >:D  It's a good card and is working well (component out) right now to my HD TV until I get my cab. in place.

ps. I like your avatar. I met Bruce Campbell a couple of times, nice guy. I have also met a lot of other actors from the Evil Dead movies including Ted Raimi but never Sam.  :(

Not sure if you like Horror Movies or not but I am a big fan and not to get off track here, feel free to PM me if you would like to talk more about them.  :) Thanks!

Flake:
Didnt you purchase the UAII pre-cut cabinet from mameroom.com?  Have you received it yet and if so is it put together with your monitor?

Christmas is fast approaching.   That being said, if you can get your control panel wired and your software/FE all setup prior to the cabinet/monitor showing up it shouldnt take very long to get the cabinet pieced together.  I'm didnt put my panel together but I am sure that will take the longest time other than maybe setting up your FE.
