far as i can tell, those are all Sanwa controls. a couple of the buttons are beat up and need to go. will get some soon. it's already got placeholders to make it an easy 6 & 6 set-up. i'm just going to use shifted keys for functions.. it's got an "instruction space" (its labeled as such) just above the CP that i'll make artwork for, explaining that.

custom art eventually, probably. whenever my fiancee wants to take a crack at that, we'll screenprint something (it definitely needs a new CPO). i don't want to make up a name for it... though i really liked the idea in another recent thread where this guy's friend made up a game and decked the cabinet out with art for it.

Here you go man.  Links for the manual and specs of that cabinet.  In english even...

I'd suggest getting that monitor bezel resprayed since it's supposed to be the same color as the rest of the cabinet.

The controls are probably not sanwa.  The sticks certainly aren't, but I can't really say who made the buttons from your pictures.

It appears as though that thing can take a standard sega control panel so you have your pick between sanwa and seimitsu made control panels that would fit any sega candy cab.  You can buy fully populated control panels from http://www.akihabarashop.jp

thanks, man. i don't think i'd seen that webpage before.

i'm pretty sure i saw "Sanwa" written on the buttons underneath. as for the sticks, Sanwa did make some bat-tops (like on http://www.lizardlickamusements.com/pages/joysticks.shtml). think i'll just be buying some more buttons to fill it out (and replace a couple). i should be able to get restrictor plates for the sticks - i don't want to mount more on there.

wish i knew about the Akihabara arcade shops when i lived in Japan. then again... it's a bit much to take back with you :)

anyone have any tips for this? what sort of white spraypaint? anything need to go under that? it should be an easy removal.

Akuma:
Before you use spraypaint and risk ruining the bezel I recommend you get some sort of plastic or fibreglass renewal polish. It can be obtained at every decent automotive shop which sells polishes and similar. When in doubt, just ask the sales persons and tell them that you got a piece of white plastic which has yellowing on it and they will sure hook you up.

BTW: If you are into candy cabs and need any knowledge I can recommend the Arcade Otaku message board over at arcadeotaku.com
