Well, filled screw holes or not, that fine looking cab would be going with me. Ever hear of a saws-all? It's a jig saw on steroids. With a metal blade on/in it you might be able to get to the screws from the inside of the cab and cut them in half. I've used one to cut through 16d nails, rebar LARGE screws, ect... Just take it easy. Then reassemble the thing wherever you want. Maybe just plug the holes next time? ;D |

Is it not possible to locate the filled holes? I would try to find them and drill them out. You can always refill and repaint. I am planning on using cross-dowel connectors in my cabinet so I can break it down whenever I have a need. Cross-dowels |

Pleasedont hit me for sayng this but why dont u cutt the bottom off then re attach it? im sure putty and paint will make the cut invisible or is it the cp that wont let u turn? u might have to cut the cp off alltho when u moveout u have to do it again unless u made something diff which u could take apart maybe brackets that fold in? |

That must have been one of those "Oh you GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!!!" moments when you tried to get it out of there... :( Nice looking cab, but I think i agree with you, take the parts and make a new cabinet for it. Salvage what you can, and look at it as a new project...new projects always rock. At the very worst, cut the cabinet along the front, back and top (vertically), that way you can save the sides, which would be harder to rebuild than the front and back panels. And always, measure twice, cut once ;) |
