For the holiday season the good folks over at www.dealnews.com (no, I am not affiliated with them) have started a Wii Tracker where they show pricing and availability.

You will get games and the system, play until the kids get bored, then give it back. Its a win/win because then the buddy will be interested in it again once he gets it back.

Totally agree. Or buy a 50$ 2nd hand PS2 with Katamari Damacy  ,the best game concept since Pac Man.

I think you're banking on unclet's kids having the same personality as an adult who bought it for the gimmick but went back to playing the 360 or PS3 after waggling a stick around grew tiresome.   The kids I know who own one (my niece and nephew, cousins, etc.) still play it quite often and are asking about the new games coming out for it.  Heck, I still enjoy it and it'd take more than $50 to "rent it" off me.

Thanks for all the advice.    My kids list this as their top gift from Santa this year.

Having one gift idea which will satisfy both kids = "priceless"    :applaud:

My local Wal-Mart has a ton of them. Try checking out Wal-Marts in small towns around you.
