Which Sliksitck controller and why?

NatasNJ:
I am about to buy either the classic or CO2 Model controller from Slikstik.  Yes I know I can build it myself for cheaper but I am lazy and my time is worth more to me than the 100 or so bucks I would save.

So does anyone have experience with either of these models?  ANd if so would you please share.

Also is it worth upgrading to a 360 optical joystick or the Happs Mechanical Rotarty joystick?

Not sure which games are tough to play under different joystick setups and such.  THanks for the help.

You'll save a hell of alot more than $100 bucks....but I digress, I was once like you.....impatient...foolish :)

Anyhow, the joystick part is up to you.....they all work the same, its just how they feel.....do you mind the feeling of a microswitch joystick?  Get the opticals.  The spinner joysticks are stiffer than som eof the other joysticks they sell, I dont know that I'd want them as my primary stick on, say, a fighting game....but as a player 3 or 4 stick they'd probably work fine...up to you.

If you dont know what games work with what sticks, then why are you buying a slickstick...?? I'd assume you knew..say..that you wanted to play Ikari Warriors or Midnight Resistance, and so you wanted the spinner stick for those games.....etc.etc...??

I bought the Classic (it was the only model at the time), but I doubt I'd buy the CO2 just because it's so wide. If you've got the right cab to mount it on, it'd be great, but it is very wide.

The Classic fit my needs, up to a point. I've modified my unit since, adding a topfire joystick and moving the spinner and 4-way joysticks around -- if you're curious take a look at my site. I've also written a review of the Classic unit I bought, which is posted on my site.

HeadRusch, I disagree that you'd save much more than about $100-150, at least if you bought all the parts new. I totaled it up, and a SlikStik classic could be made for about $275-300. They charge $435, so that's about $135-160 more. Considering the very professional construction of the unit, I think it's worth it.

if you have the cash, buy the optical joysticks. i have 1, and if they werent so expensive i'd buy a few more. they are perfect, no click but still a perfect feel and great response

Hmmmm...I thought the SlikStick controllers were more expensive than that.......I guess I must have been thinking of the 4 player CP.

Still, $150 is $150.........
