If you follow the tutorial step by step , you should at least be able to understand the basics.
For more advanced thing, there is the support forums or here .

Of course if you don't read tutorial , it is more difficult to get in. As Atomic has not a said "classic" approach of configuration. It is more modular.
The learning curve in Atomic is really exponential. Slow at the begining and extremely fast after.
It is only after investing few time on it you will really see the power and the flexibility.
I couldn't at all figure out how to assign directories.
right click on a "screen" , select "properties" . Or if you want assign directories for Layout (like video, cabinet , etc..) select "Define layout folder".
Yeah, I didn't understand that. It may be powerful, but it requires a bit of reading before setting up a layout and stuff. Basically, I want it to be like this:
1. start config utility (or FE exe if utility is embedded, for example as in MaLa), there being obvious categories in the menu and menu tabs. Set paths.
2. set game lists according to my mame32 folders ini - that is, have it automatically, and completely, import the contents of it.
3. save and play.
(I might likely then go and create a simple visual layout for the GUI, and MaLa's layout editor has sufficed...although making different resolution layouts without having to
be at that resolution while working on it.
For that matter, your layout designer is weird in that it scales the layout resolution to what your monitor's pixel count it or something, because if I set it for, say, 1024x768 it makes it that size on the page, and my desktop resolution had better be a good bit larger than that or I can't see the whole of the window I'm workin in. Aiy.)
Anyways, thanks for the tech support. I'll give things some more thought an see if I wanna get very involved.
