The diode needs to be there to protect the any circuits in line with the meter. Here is an article that explains this to some degree. http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/components/relay.htm Same reason they use diodes on coils in pinball machines. |

Here is the best I can do to illustrate my wiring configuration. The counters actuate with the coin microswitches. It was great. But then I try the I-Pac and the counters don't work. Where am I going wrong? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ UPDATE!!! I was running the Voltage for the counters through the 12V I moved it to the 5V and All is fine now. I wonder if the Ipac was in danger at the time. I understand that it runs at 5V :S The 12V can now be dedicated to the Solenoids and Lights :) |
