Wiring Coin Box

So the wiring of the coin micro switches was easy.
Problem is hooking the two 6V counters.
and also the solenoids.
Also, the lighting is antiquated. I found a shop that sells LED equivalent.
I understand that the LEDs are 20O hms and that I-Pac will run 10 Ohms.

So how do I hook up voltage to the counters and he lights.
I read a few good postings on this forum, but for someone that is very ignorant when it comes to wiring and electronics... well I feel rather stupid.

Anyway, any help.
thanks

Franco B:

You could use a adjustable/6v wall wart to power the 6v counters.

For the coin door lamps/LEDs just tap into either the 5v or 12v from a spare PSU molex. Part of [this] tutuorial/round-up may help you to wire them.

Good luck :)

Some places suggested running the LEDs off off the 5V from I-PAC.

can I run a 6Volt counter of a 5Volt i_pac output?
where is the output?
is there danger of frying my I-pac?
Not to mention the solenoids?
can I run them all of the 5V?
do I have to atttach each respectively to different outputs?

I was also told that too much to the LEDs shortens their lifespan.
would the 5V I-pac be too much?
do I need to regulate it somehow?

I am ignorant with electronics.
Stupid questions, but figured this was the best people and place to ask. ;D

this article on wiring was very clear:

What significance does the diode represent?
there was suggestion in this discussion's third reply by Sarge:

What does the diode do?
I just wish to understand what it means.

P.S. I did finally get the counter to work in the wiring by running the Voltage to the counter's positive, and then the counter ground to the microswitch Normaly Open (NO). This isolated the counter so that only when the microswitch was triggered could a cuircuit be created and BANG! a numerical progression of 25cents can now occur.

Thanks to this forum!
and all those contributing.
