'Sharp' setting - is this still available in MAME .127 +
« on: October 16, 2008, 09:46:57 am »
I was tweaking my config settings and could not find the 'sharp' setting I have used in past mame versions.  Is this still supported and if so, how do I enable it?  Thanks,

I think in prior mame versions this sharp was added to the 'effect' setting...'I think'   :dunno

Edit - never mind, figured it out.

Mind sharing the answer? Help break the NOHU cycle! (no one help u's). Seriously that's a very good question.

It's simply a matter of reading and understanding the part of the Mame help file that discusses the video features. Hint: no 'RGBsharp' in later versions, but something else does the same thing.

sorry...

You just shut off filtering under D3D options in the config file (the default is on).  Has exact same effect as turning sharp on in past versions.

Glad we found it, that filter makes most games a muddy mess.  The difference is astounding when filtering is off.

Yeah. Some people like it blurry, others like it sharp. Thanks for the tip.
