gameguy1957:
As an added bonus, under all of the filth there was an original owner/service manual inside the envelope. The manual was in great shape.

gameguy1957:
Things to do ...

Start button (does anyone have a picture that shows what an original looks like?)
4 x pots for the player controls, the originals feel very rough
Lots of cleaning and scrubbing to remove 35 years of dirt, filth and grime
Make a stencil, re-silkscreen a new piece of glass and store the original
Try to figure out what to do with the swollen and damaged edges of the wood panels
Once finished, re-locate from storage to the gameroom

I'll post a picture of the machine once finished.

I have repaired one of these ecently for a friend, monitor and pcb.
I have also dumped the only PROM on that PCB, just in case :).
The closest monitor manual is within this one http://www.cityofberwyn.com/manuals/GranTrak20.pdf

Have fun :)

I'll have a scanned copy of the manual next week if you or your friend need it.

Wow how many times would you have a game like that work straight away !

Congrats !

The monitor might need some new caps.
