Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Noob Saibot Wavenet information ???
<< < (3/8) > >>
Witchboard:
I recently have seen a Mortal Kombat with an extra board for network play for sale.  I can't remember if it was on eBay or another forum.  I also can't remember which Mortal Kombat it was.  I'll do some searching and see if I can find it again.

It's on the innerwebs so it must be true!  ;D

No, it existed. It was midways attempt to make MK a "tourny" game. They only tested it in a few locations, and there are few if any boards left out there. I'd like to find a board set, not only to run in my cab, but I'd send it somewhere to get it dumped for MAME lol.

So this wavenet version was made so players could play each other over the net?

I believe the idea behind it was so they could have tournies at different arcades and then for example, the winner in San Fran could Fight the Winner in chicago. its a good idea but the technology at the time wasnt cost efficient. The crazy part is, it'd totally work nowadays just hook a cab up to a cable modem, but now that the technology is here and affordable, the arcades arent.
