I do consider Ebay a monopoly and I think it's only a matter of time before regulators decide to treat it as one (especially with Ebay seemingly trying to get itself regulated). But you actually don't have to have a monopoly to get slapped for anti-competitive behavior.

I know craigslist isn't an auction site but I've used it to buy my two mame cabinets as well as buying and selling tons of computer, photography, and game related items.
I guess its not as useful if you don't live in a large city
facesmiths:
maybe craigslist need a region based on country instead of states or cities? I don't' know if it does but I think it is going to be much more popular now thanks to ebay's new policy's.
Do they have a country based region ?

Craigslist is useful for wider areas if you use google to do the craigslist search. Not as effective, but great for finding rare items. (Such as apartments in the portland maine area... They tend to be rather rare commodites).
ps. My attempt to have Shmokes alter his sig met with udder failure. Moo.
SirPeale:
eBay is actually going to do away with paper payment methods (check/mo) and a LOT of sellers are up in arms about it. eBay says you can still accept them - BUT - you may NOT advertise the fact in your auction, or they'll suspend you. You must let the customer ask if it's okay. If eBay finds out that you're taking too many paper payments, they'll suspend you.
That's just wrong.
DantheApe:
and they just lost me to craigslist
i wasn't an active ebay-er anyway but now, no thanks
