Where to find a big 4:3 LCD
drventure:
Boy that just chaps me.
Take a look at the user comments on newegg about dead pixels.
One dead pix would annoy the hell out of me, but it's considered "OK" by most companies and they won't take it back
I tend to buy LCD's off craigslist for the sole reason that I can check out the monitor before buying it.

if people are really desperate for a large 4:3 display, cut holes in the side of the cabinet and build boxes to mask the edges of a 16:9 widescreen LCD monitor. With your typical 2560x1600 30-inch widescreen LCD, you should be able to get a 4:3 diagonal of 26.5" at a resolution of 2133x1600 (almost 4:3). Or build the cabinet to fit a widescreen LCD, and then mask the edges.

I don't understand why you would waste a large screen like that. Turn it sideways and use the extra half of the screen for a digital marquee. You could even build a frame to make it look like a separate piece.

You could be onto something! Why not use the bottom of the screen as an instruction panel for each game and the top to show the marquee or even have scrolling text or something?
Is that even possible to split the screen up like that? Because if it is that would look pretty crazy!

I want to say Randy or someone here already did this. I know I saw it a while back.
