It is a clinically studied phenomenon, and has a 99% effectiveness if the schedule is followed STRICTLY. 19 months and counting for my wife, and no new babies (and it ain't for lack of trying). ;D

Lol, well I looked it up and indeed it's more effective then I thought when she ONLY breastfeeds, also does this during the night and then it's still only 98% effective for the first 6 months. In reality women don't only breastfeed and you try to get your baby to sleep through the night. 19 months seems longer than 6 months too.
My wife was breast feeding, but she started ovulating in 3 months or so. Jamie Lynn was breastfeeding and (rumor has it that) she became pregnant after 3 or 4 months :P
