| Has anyone tried using a white acrylic sheet behind a marquee? |

I was thinking of using a piece of white acrylic behind the marquee graphic to help diffuse the light and give it a more consistent look. Has anyone tried this? What were the results? The only negative I could see is that it might wash out the marquee graphic. |

I use a white acrylic diffuser behind my marquee. It does create a more even spread of light. I used Cold Cathode tubes for my marquee. 2 of them approx 8 cm apart. You cant see the individual tubes just a constant illumination. Didn't have any problem washing out the graphics. It's not nearly as bright as a fluresent though. Heres a vid of it in action. You can use a diffuser panel from a fluorescent light... easy to cut to size and only a few bucks at your big box hardware store. |
