The Vewlix Fighter Cabinet - WIP. The cab is dead my friends.

I like those DB25 breakout boards, I've recommended them before... but why not go straight from the breakout to the controller? Seems like there would be no need for a terminal strip in between the two.
Also, using 360 controllers gives you the option of hooking up an Xbox 360 or PC...

I like the latest re-design but I'm wondering where the speakers go.

yeah. thats true HarumaN. less wires to cut that way too. Will have to get a bigger breakout board than 25 though. 8 buttons per player and the 8 for the joysticks + grounds.
somunny - I'm not 100% on that. I was thinking if I go with a 2.1 sound system....I can maybe build boxes to either mount on the sides of the monitor, or...see if they will fit on that slanted area between the control panel and monitor.
Thats one of those things that'll come last I think. If I can find a 5.1 system (which'll be too much for this kind of cab...) I'd mount some around the front of the cab where the coin door will be.
I'll most likely end up building boxes for the sides of the monitor though. Easiest and I know it'll fit. ;D Or if I can find some snazzy looking speakers...I wont have to modify them. Just mount them to the monitor.

weird just today I was checking out some pics of the Viewlx cab on another forum and thought hey this would be a great idea for a home built cab and I stumble across this thread, This will definitely be a nice cab. Any chance you have that pdf from the lindberg cab?

I'm diggin' the designs. Love to see new ideas on the forum. My only suggestion is that the control panel feels a bit to rectangular, especially in the first couple options. Good luck with the build.
