This is the trackball I plan on getting, it looks super sweet. Now that it has been out for a few years, does anyone have experienced any problems or isses of any kind with it. Things to know before I purchase or install it? |
| Dekieon:
I did end up getting this, and it is a great track ball. I would like to point out one thing though, that is missing in the installation post. The metal inserts...after you drill the 1/4 pilot hole for them, you need to drill an additional pilot hole using a 9/32" bit about 1mm deep, so that the inserted can be pushed in flush with the wood. The reason is, the inserts compress when inserted into the the 1/4 hole, however the top part of the insert doesn't compress and a 1/4" hole is too small to press the inserts into. I learned this the hard way when I was forced to try and extract an insert because I couldn't get it in flush. |

I Received my U-Trak yesterday, very happy with this great product. The U-Trak RGB LED Illumination Kit I received is a new and improved version. Great color and brightness even in daylight. The mounting is also improved. Thanks Andy :) |

This might sound like a really dumb question but what do you guys primarily use the trackball for on your cabs? Is it mainly to play the games that require it or is it used to control the mouse on the OS to launch applications? I'm a noob when it comes to making cabs so I'm trying to learn as much as possible before posting a huge thread of questions lol. |

I use it for both. If I need to do a lot of mouse work, I grab the actual mouse, but the trackball is good for simple operating system tasks. But mostly it's for trackball games like missle command. |
