how to wire up relay

Pages: << < (2/4) > >>

G1zm0:

hi ive attached a diagram  that is on the relays body

the make is beta  and i think model is 0716b

it also has bta6-2c-j-cw-12vdc on it

and a picture of open gate   |
                                            \
                                             |

and next to that : 10a @ 240v~ 50/50hz
                              10a@ 28v -/...
cos.0-0.4 5a@240v-
l/r=7ms 5a@24v -/...

then shows the box with line in it 12v

its for uk 140 power.

it has base to (square with 4 contacts each side)

markings from top left  6 5 4 3  and bottom left 7 8 1 2

i know that 2 & 7 is coil and the 12v from pc molex connector connects to here , yellow no2 and black no 7.

i want to run 3 items, poss 4 from this (each 240v)

and i guess the load has to be spread accross the terminals so wired like a buzz bar?

BobA:

For your loads to be on when the relay is powered you would connect to the NO contact at 1-3 or 8-6.   I would wire these in parallel for the max load and wire to a power bar or terminal strip where you can plug in your cabinet loads.   The base of the relay is not made for wiring multiple large wires on a single contact so you would probably be trying to put too much wire in each terminal if you just used the relay base.

G1zm0:

ok so i want to wire up a 4 plug strip,  where would you put the earth, neg and live wires of the bar? or is best to wire these directly to the terminals?   i know nothing about doing this

BobA:

The earth is a ground and is wired to you cabinet ground or a plug ground.   The Line or Live wire is connected thru your relay.   The neutral does not have to be switched and can be left connected to the power plug on your 4 outlet strip.    The only wire that has to be cut and put thru your relay is the Line or Hot wire.   In the US and Canada it is the black wire but not sure what color it is where you are for 220/240.

Maybe someone in the UK can chime in on the wire colors used.

G1zm0:

live=brown
neutral/neg=blue
earth= yellow/green strip

if i want to add strip i put the 12v onto the coil with a protection diode, and where on the relay to i put the live and neut wire? what pins and to spread the load?

prob better getting a intelli power strip lol
