CP Harness and ArcadeVGA Questions
Ummon:
Whether using an avga or soft15, you'll need a breakout cable for interface with an arcade monitor. Look in the wiki. It's all there....and whatever ain't is here.

I picked up a Sunset Riders JAMMA+ cab in very good condition for around $300CAN. It was a steal I couldn't pass up.

At least now i know who got the cab i looked at and tried to buy before i got my Showcase!!!!
;D
I think you ened up beting me by a few hours... Looked like a cool cabinet... it would be perfect for Bigger guys like me who want toplay head to head... (a normal SFii cab layout gets tight)
If you aren't preserving jamma, just go with an Ipac... Use an arcade VGA and the extra amplifier circuit off of Andy's web page... His J-pac, would work, but you'll have to do some creative wiring (the J-pac does include extra termials for "extra" switches., like extra buttons.) and use multiple interfaces if you want extra controls.
take some pics, and let us know how it goes!!!!

I saw one article that showed how to make the cable for an RGB Arcade Monitor. So you can do this with any graphics DVI Card? Just have to hack the cable? Seems like a free lunch? I can't see that it can be that easy.
But I might be mis-reading it.
Thanks

You can make your own breakout cable.
Here is the diagram to make one yourself. 4th post down.

That's only half the battle. You also need to get your PC's video card to display 15khz CGA resolutions. That's what Soft15khz does, but it doesn't work for all video cards.
