Sorry if already posted.   Nanotech Ent.  sent me this preliminary brochure that seems promising.  It uses transducers instead of LEDs; and reports it will work at very close distances.  Opinions?

Wow very cool.  Assuming it works as advertised, I think this is a much better way to go than all the infared LED solutions we are seeing now.  I wonder if those sensors need to be visible, or if they can go behind a bezel?  Looks expensive at any rate.

Looking at it, and if you can tweak the amplifier than you could put the sensors behind a surface which will not absorb or cause the sound to be deflected, much like some reversing sensors on a car

So yes you probably could hide them away neatly, and they would look great :) (or not look great as you can't see them  :dizzy: )
