Complete and utter chaos is what mine is!  :dizzy:

I actually just inventoried for the first time a couple days ago. I don't have as much as I thought I did. In fact, here is everything I have...

I need to reinforce my shelves...

Bender:

I don't even want to know what I have, it will only remind me of how much money I've spent and how few projects I have to show for it.  ;)

No inventory for myself (that would be a full time job for someone)

But the only advice I can offer to anyone reading this thread that hasn't yet accumulated a mass of goods is this:

Buy your parts when they are an absolute necessity.  I'm not talking about buttons and small stuff, but rather encoders, spinner, TB, and joysticks.  I've seen it too many times when someone gets their parts list filled, and by the time they get to building a cabinet, there have been great advancements in technology of parts available.  I know its frustrating when it comes time to wait for goodies to arrive to further your progress, but its a sure way you are getting exactly what you want/when you want.  This will also avoid getting a wrong color because of a theme change mid-project.

Just my 2 cents.  Oh ya, and buy a label maker as one of your first purchases if you think you start to have an "inventory" of parts.

That really is very good advice.  I'm finally finishing my cab that I started years ago.  I have perfect 360s and druin's interface for my rotary sticks.  I also bought opaque black buttons so I can't use LEDs to automatically light the buttons for each game, etc.  There are quite a number of things I'd do differently if I were buying the parts today.

On the other hand, I had money to spend back then and if I needed to buy parts today I wouldn't be finishing my arcade cabinet right now.  By the way, it's really coming together.  I'll have something pretty cool to show soon.
