Mounting an I-PAC
« on: March 12, 2002, 11:56:08 pm »
What's the simplest way to mount an I-PAC to wood?  Those holes are really small!  I can't find any screws that'll fit.  Any ideas?

Thanks,
Dan

I went through my drill bits to find a drill slightly bigger than the existing hole.  I used this to open up the holes.  Then using (4) 4-40 x 1" screws and bolts and (4) 1/2" long nylon spacers I mounted it to the inside bottom of my control panel.  The bottom of my panel is masonite (about 3/16" thick) if you are using something different you will probably need londer screws.

Good luck.

I used 3/4" #4 wood screws, and 1/4" aluminum spacers.  I did not have to enlarge the holes at all.

I bought some insulated standoffs from Radio Shack for about $1.50. The screws are the perfect size! I screwed the standoff to the I-PAc, placed the Ipac on the board and marked the positions of each standoff on the board. Then I just hotglued the standoffs to the board. Seemd to be holding up pretty well.
