Barry Barcrest:
I am thinking i might try your idea of mounting perspex onto the wood after my failed attempt at using vinyl. It's looking good, i will see how it looks with that protective paper off.

Looking really good!  How did you cut such nice curves on the interior of the panels?  I am debating on whether or not to make some sort of adjustable circle cutting jig but I don't really know how - it also seems like it would take a while to do...

Actually, that wasnt my idea.
I saw it first in Mountain's thread.

Thanks for the kind comments!

I cut the curves with the same rig I made for my Rotating Monitor project:

I would like to build a better rig, like the one Mountain made for his projects:

I cut the inside ribs by making two cuts. First cut was outside radius and second cut I made by moving the pivot point 1 inch toward the router, which cut a smaller radius, resulting in a rib 1 inch wide.
This does take a lot of time, I which there was an easier way to do this.

javeryh:
I made a circle cutting jig but it requires me to drill a hole at the exact distance I want the radius to be (instead of an adjustable arm) so after a few projects there will be too many holes in the MDF.  It's also not as precise.

I saw the one mountain made and it looks easy enough to build except I'm not sure how the knob tightening part works exactly.  I think I'm going to give it a shot.
