Well, I live in Tasmania.

Sure there are some perks, uncrowded surf (albeit in freezing water), amazing natural beauty and knowing half the people you meet. BUT, when it comes to getting hold of cabs, let me tell you, it's near impossible.

I have acquired one cab which was a mere shell, that was fine for my MAME project which I have nearly completed, but I want to get hold of a working cab.

There are quite a few located on the mainland, but getting them to me pretty much costs the price of the cab. It sucks balls. For example, even if I were to get a cheap $200 cab, it would cost me $400 shipping!

Still looking into some possibilities of getting some cabs in a container with another company or similar, but what a pain in the back side.

So, for all you out there that have access to great cabs, old and new, be thankful that you don't live in "Tassie".

Picture of Tassie for those that have nfi what I am on about.

PS. Anyone here living in Tassie?

Oh, I am in NZ BTW.  ;D

So do tazmanian devils really spin fast and eat everything in their path?  ;D

I read somewhere that Perth is even worse. It is the most remote big city in the world. You can paddle to Melbourne at least. Perthians have to deal with zillions of centimeters of desert-sand first. And boatin is cheaper than trukkin.

you must be feeling a bit chilly right now  ;D but i know how you feel about the remoteness. when i got the arcade bug, i lived in darwin (at the top of the northern territory on the map for non-australians). finding a cab there was pretty hard too...
