South Park Pinball
« on: July 05, 2008, 09:42:55 pm »
Hey,

I just picked up a south park today and I need to replace the LCD screen. Does it take the same screen as the new stern or is there a specific LCD I need to find? Also for some reason Mr. Hanky is not popping up. I can hear the switch click on testing but he does not pop. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks

It's not an LCD

It's a Dot-Matrix Display. Any Mid-size (128 x 32) DMD will work. Pinball Life has the best prices on those ($124), but they're closed until 7/6/08

As far as the "Mr. Hanky" assembly, check the coil and power to the coil first.

thanks, I will order one first thing when they open back up. I will take a look at the coil and see if that fixes anything

I mean what's the story with the graphic.  Is that something for the new version of Outrun?  I haven't seen the big-boobed anime chick before.

I just ordered the DMD screen and I hope it comes soon. The one that is on the machine really blows. Anyway I was trying to figure out Mr. Hanky and I noticed if I push on it a bit on the testing part it will pop up. It goes down just fine but I cant get it to pop with out me pushing on it. I suppose I will need to take it apart and see if there is something blocking it. Any suggestion before I do the tear down.

Nope.  Tear it down and clean it up.

Thats what I was thinking.

I hope I can figure it out. From what I have seen on others boards Mr. Hanky does not like to work that much.

I had also had an issue with the ball tray not detecting the right number of balls and it was messing up multiball. The machine just kept sending out balls and multiball never stopped. I located a connector that wasnt working and fixed it.

I finally got Mr. Hanky to work about 90% of the times so that is much better then 0%.

Now I have a playfield question. Part of the play field worn down to the wood. What would be the best option to prevent further wear and to protect it from this point forward. Here is a picture of the spot in question.

Thanks for any advice.
