im doing a little project and need to step down 9v DC from the wall to 3v DC... what would i use to create this effect ?

and how do i wire 2 seperate 9DC things to the same DC plug/transformer? do you do it in series or parallel or ?

any insight would be great !

thanks

Ed_McCarron:
2 separate devices to one power supply?  Parallel.  Just be sure that the current rating on the PS will handle both devices.

9 to 3v?  http://www.dimensionengineering.com/DE-SW033.htm is a hybrid switching reg - in a 78XX footprint.  It'll handle up to 1A at 3.3v.

Franco B:
I take it you are using a 9v DC 'plug' PSU? Why not just get a 3v one? [Here's one] from Maplins for £6.

david656:
if i got another lead/ transformer it would just be taking up more room in a confined area :-( and therefore not reallly a option ! if worst comes to the worst im gunna have to use batteries which will run down in no time :-(

can i not use a load of resistors or summit !?

grantspain:
what the bloody hell are you up to??
