European vs US cabs

(1/7) > >>

Wuditron:
After seeing lots of pics of arcade cabinets, I have come to the following conclusion-

Europeans seem to build stylish cabs, they have small CPs with a few carefully chosen controls.
Americans tend to built huge tank-like cabs with enormous CPs containing every possible control.

1) Is this true or am I imagining it?

2) If I am right, is this the sign of some deep cultural difference?

3) What are cabs built by other nationalities like?

TOK:
Australian people put the monitors at the bottom.

NiN^_^NiN:
Well Australian cocktail cabs are a Japanese style

US Style

AUS/Japan Style

Plus more than 90% of the arcade cabs in australia came from 1 company the rest were some dedicated cabs like neo geo SFII etc but Allied and Leisured are what most game came in.

Most remembered would be the lowboy

RayB:

Just over 30% of Americans are obese. So they NEED to super-size everything.

Dartful Dodger:
Standing also seems to require too much energy for the average American gamer.

I'd say most American cabs have stool of some kind in front of them.
