and is there a special technique in it?

I got two big panes of glass that used to be part of a vanity and im gonna use them on my cabinet but ill have to do some cutting.

Need some glass cutting expertise, plz

SirPeale:

You'll need a glass scoring device, and a straight edge.

Or you could let someone with the proper tools do it.  That way, you're sure to get the proper fit (unless they're incompetent)

I dont really want to hire a professional, but I do not mind getting the tools for the job if it's not too bad.

Mike:

I wouldn't bother buying any tools. Your really not going to use them again. I'd go up to your local ace or truevalue hardware store (or any other small hardware store like that). Just talk to the guy in the glass cutting area and he will probably do it for free. If not for free he will only charge you a buck or two for each piece cut. And I'm telling you it works. I replaced a whole set of cabling on an excercise machine for like $5 at the local do-it yourself center, to buy the crimping tool would have costed me an additional $60 but they did all the crimping for free. They make thier money by treating you good so you go back there and buy stuff you need instead of going to menards or lowes.

Hoagie_one:

ok, ill call around.

good idea
