DJ Infinity:

I suggest buying a NAOMI and wiring your controls to JAMMA  :applaud: I have two setups of this game. One downstairs on a cab and one up on my LCD using my deskmame setup.

Timstuff:

With all this talk of Naomi classics playable through NullDC, let's not forget this gem...

NullDC is awesome, but unfortunately the only computer in my house that runs it at full speed is my brother's Macbook Pro, since both my main computer (2.66 GHz pentium 4) and my arcade computer (2.0 GHz ADM Athelon) are too slow, both being single-core. At some point I'll have to build a beefier PC to put in my cab that can run NullDC at full speed, but that probably won't be for a while, since this project has run up quite a bill as it is... But at least I can give my current arcade PC a new life inside a cocktail cab or something in the future.

So while a really old PC may not cut it, I dont think you need a beast either.  Once you get familiar with the program try it out of a few machines to gauge what you will need.  A dual core is definitely not required.

Dual core or Single Core?  1700Ghz, 2000Ghz?  4000Ghz?
 :dunno

I didn't get a chance to swap video cards this weekend as I'd hoped...
ended up doing more work on Father's day than most other days, but
at least I did get to pickup a new tv off craigslist for my 4p cab build.

massive88:

As far as I know, there is zero multithreading in NullDC, which means a dual core doesnt give you any benefit over a single core.

I would think NullDC would work fine on TimStuffs P4, and would like to know what video card he has and what game he was trying to run, and if it was from an image or not.

Timstuff:

My P4 has a Radeon 9800. I haven't tested my Athelon yet (I plan to soon), but it has a Radeon 9550. The games I tested on my P4 were Soul Calibur, MVC2, and Dead or Alive 2. All of them ran pretty sluggish, at about 20-24 FPS. On my brother's 2.4 GHz Core2 Duo Macbook Pro, Soul Calibur ran so fast I had to enable the framerate regulator, which put it at about 50-60 FPS. I should probably try NullDC on my Athelon, but from what I've seen so far, the dual-core Macbook Pro delivered a superior performance over the single-core P4.
