Idea ripped from another thread.

Leave it to me to stop in for just a drive-by polling!    :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

I love my FIOS!   8)

i have cable internet, rated at 5mb/s.  that is the fastest connection that I can get where i live.  I run speed tests fairly regularly, it usually is around 4.7mb/s...not too bad..but i was at a client the other day who has comcast, and i think they forgot to throttle his bandwidth, because it tested at 29.6mb/s.  i ran several tests from several sites and they all agreed on that speed.  It makes me a little sad to know that he had nearly 30mb/s and won't ever really even take advantage of it.

FIOS rocks baby!

1.5mbps symmetrical wireless link. The only physical lines we can get out here in the country is phone and power. We've got a nice, small antenna (about the size of a mini dish) pointed at the closest cell tower. I've been quite impressed with it, it only goes out when it's absolutely hellish outside (typically the power isn't far behind it when the net goes). I've been able to call tech support, and they put me right on with their senior network administrator. No bandwidth caps, no blocked transfers (like what Comcast was doing), got a static IP without having to upgrade to a business account... I absolutely love this service. Just wish I could upgrade to their 6mpbs symmetrical link.

Well, I'm in Australia and we have terrible internet for the price we are expected to pay.

Me, I'm also all the way down in Tasmania which is not connected to the mainland, making internet even shittier.

I have 8mb connection but the fastest speed I have seen is 500kb/s. (from the ISP too so doesn't really count). I would say I average 1.5mb connection speeds.

This has only been availible in the last 6 months, so hopfully with our new government our internet should become more affordable.
