MS Pacman closer to being done (are they ever?)
quanlee:
I've been working on my Ms Pacman / Mame machine off and on for the past year. I finally got my side and front artwork, and put it on over the weekend. It came as large sheets of adhesive backed vinyl. I didn't want to cover up my nice paint job, so I cut out each individual piece before putting them on the cabinet. I think it turned out pretty good.
I had previously done the monitor bezel and control panel artwork my self using graphics from other sources. That's printed on adhesive backed paper. I used spray urethane to seal and protect it. Unfortunately, my printer only prints 8.5x11, so you can see some seams. I'll have to re-print that on larger sheets at some point, maybe after it begins to wear. It's been ok so far. Kids beat on it pretty regularly.
Here are pics:
I put Ms Pacman on the left side.
The front turned out pretty good.
I added some galaga art to the Ms Pacman bezel (left side).
Right side is black with galaga artwork.
I love the space invaders monsters, had to include them.
I added elements from the Galaga CP, and Donkey Kong.
This machine plays Ms Pacman, Galaga, DK, Digdug and many other vertical games.
Ginsu Victim:
Those seams are the only real gripe I have.
Other than that, looks awesome!

Looks seriously sexy 8)
Indeed the prints would look better without the seems.
RayB:
WOW, nice job.
LCD monitor?
It's weird how it looks "wrong" to me, the games on LCD monitors. I am so used to the picture having slight curvature that a perfectly flat, aligned maze looks "wrong"

Thanks, yes it's a 19" LCD monitor. It's actually much closer to the glass than normal.
