Latubi's Mame cabinet (Newb)
« on: September 09, 2010, 09:23:39 am »
Firstly I would like to say big hi to everyone in here! :D Here's a little background about me in gaming...
okay, so i was born in 1988 and when i was a child we had a Nintendo, played mostly Super Mario on it.
There was some arcade cabinets in the neighbourhood kiosk, but now i can remember only MKII.
We didn't have much money so i couldn't test them too much (maybe 1-2 times in my whole life).
I started thinking after reading about projects on this page that i could make my own arcade cabinet!
So i started gathering info how to make one (been reading for about 2 months now).

Here is some doodles and designs i have been able to make.
Design is copied from Lokesen's Project Mame

Design isn't 100% ready and I can't really start building this anytime soon because I am currently searching for an apartment and little short on money (first things first ).

Help and advicing words are welcomed warmly! :duckhunt

Thanks, i started drawing much simpler picture but ended up on "rounder" look.

I forgot to mention some specs of the system. I'm going to put my own computer in there which has:
22" Hyundai screen (wide... it is what it is)
Amd athlon 64 4800+ 2,5Ghz
ati radeon hd 3870 515mb graphics card
4 gig of ram
160gb harddisk (Have to buy bigger if im going to get some roms >.<)

aand  i also have this logitech x-530 set.. it is 5.1 set but can be used as stereo. So i thought of taking the front speakers, gutting them and installing to the cab.
