Bulk Microswitch Source?
GAJoe:
I've acquired about 50 pushbuttons with no microswitches. Can anyone direct me to the cheapest source for getting a bulk amount of Cherry switches, say a box of 100 or so?

I don't know about bulk but any local shop should have them for a quid or so.
Google around, you shouldn't have difficulty finding them :)

I dont really think he wants to spend $200 on micros ;D
Im sure i saw a thread on here recently about bulk switches but I have searched and can't seem to find it.
Looking at Happs site they do 100+ cherrys for $0.83 each..
Looking at the small discount Happ give it would make sense just to buy 50 switches if thats all you are after.
It may be worth PMing divemaster to see what he can get them for.
Ill keep having a google to see if I can find them cheaper anywhere (I have too much spare time at work today ;))

If you need to replace them try to find omron brand or better, cherry switches are good but there is better stuff around. you should be able to find them at any radio shack type store.

If you do want to use cherrys you would probably be best going direct to one of Cherrys sales reps or distributors. You can find your nearest one here.
If you decide to go for another brand remember the actuating force of the standard Cherrys is 75g. However you dont have to buy a switch with the same actuating force, you could always buy a bunch with a lighter or heavy feel to suit your needs.
