Lookin for a photoshop guy to do a very small project
« on: June 02, 2003, 02:47:27 pm »
Need someone to take the MAME font, as seen here.

DL here

And I need it to say "Mame Box"  in the same font as the original logo.

Think anyone could do that for me?

Thanks
Mike

I'm really good in photoshop for photo editing and game logos (as i am making my own games now) and for artwork and things of that nature, font sets and creation of fonts aren't my special. Thats about the only thing I can't do in photoshop, sorry:( I'm suprised no one has made a mame font yet...although it might be complicated to get all the letters to connect properly with each other...might not be such a small project... I dunno...Good Luck in finding someone!

I'll give it a shot tonightHmm, never noticed that button before :)

Anyways, Ill give it a shot.. Youre looking for the entire phrase MAMEBOX, all similarly sized, in a similar font? It'll take a bit of fudging around, since as far as I know, the mame font, is just those 4 letters. I've got a ton of fonts so I can see what I can match to, get some outlines

Are these new tags or am I just noticing them for the first time?

Oh yeah, and do you have a preference on B and O.. they can be rounded or straight, about the same work involved. I'd think straight, going by the original Mame lettering, but some curves might look spiff

Im not really happy with the B. Id like to find the Iron Maiden font and retry it with angles instead, maybe tomorrow night

Crap I hope youre not on a 56k :) the big version is about 20mb zipped. Its the original .psd file, 300dpi, about 30" wide

Seperate layers for the edge effect, and the basic flat shape
Good luck, hope this is something useable!

(it's still uploading, so it may be a red X for a few more minutes. Im goin to bed)

hmmmmm.....I'd like to see a mame font done as well...I need more letters though..hehe...one of these days I might find the time to play.

here is my critique:  like the colors, the letters need to have the lean to the right look of the title (mame), O  & X look out of place maybe bring the lower bubble on the B in a little as it looks to wide compared to the other letters,  and have the leading line on the X drop down instead of the lagging line, I think it would look more consistant with the A that way

It's Perfect.  I mean, if you want to toy with it some more, thats great too, but if you dont, this will work for me.  I'll credit you on the machine when it's done.

Thanks.  If I can ever help you out, just let me know.

Mike

This time just the .psd, its a heck of a lot smaller(filesize) without the effects, same resolution
