1988 Vendo Pepsi Machine

No, I'm not kidding :)

I got this for free from a friend, and it works fine.  The only issue is the clear plexi/poly buttons are yellowed and marred and impossible to see through.  That, and the stickers are impossible to pull off.

Anyone have any suggestions for refinishing/restoring/polishing the buttons, and a good way to get those heavy duty stickers off so I can repaint/resticker the thing?

I'm in the exact same boat with my 1996 Dixie-Narco Pepsi machine.  Saaaame problems.

shardian:
Get some Novus plastic polish.

I'd like to know how you made Novus make scratches disappear. I bought the NOVUS kit, I used Novus #3, then #2 and it did not make the scratches go away, it merely polished them up. I finally used a orbital with a polishing pad on it and still - scratches remained. Is there some trick with NOVUS Shardian? Perhaps you have to let it sit for a long time or something?

shardian:
I've never used #3 (I need to get some though). I've been working on the headlights of my Civic with #2 lately. Personally, the scratches don't bother me all that much. It is the cloudiness and yellowing that the Novus will fix up.

How bad are your scratches? Are they normal wear and tear, or knife gouges? Novus doesn't really remove scratches, it really just removes material to get the surface down to that level. If the scratches are deep, you are SOL because you'll wear the plastic down to nothing.
