| Konami GT uses 360deg wheel? |

Can anyone confirm this? Controls.dat says so, and the control panel image at KLOV looks like it, but looking for confirmation. Anyone remember playing it?? http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=8346 |

[Thinking=out loud] Looking at controls.dat info, it looks like mame used to use dial input type, but looking at current mame source now uses paddle type. comments in the source includes, "// steering wheel, not exactly sure if DIAL works ok.", which hints the coder thought it should be dial. Hmm, there are quite a few unknown dipswitches; could this be another GTMR-like game that can (dip)switch between different wheel types? [/thinking] Hardware confirmation needed. (But unless those dipswitches are also confirmed as not changing input types, one report on the wheel type won't be enough to be totally sure.) edit: clarification about current mame. |

Yes, I agree with that. This is a bit strange given the note in the source you mentioned: --- Quote ---0.113: Derrick Renaud set Konami GT and RF2 to proper PADDLE control and fixed mask. --- End quote --- I wonder what basis 'proper' was deduced from? Edit: this seems to confirm it is indeed an optical (dial) game, and gives DIP info: http://www.jammaboards.com/guides/Konami%20GT.txt Might be worth trying to fix this one... |
