Looking for some measurement suggestions.
« on: May 26, 2008, 11:18:45 pm »
Im stuck trying to figure out the correct size for my control panel. The image below is exactly what I'd like to do. Unfortunatly I suck horribly at cutting wood. I have a friend who can cut but needs me to get the correct measurements for him to go off of.

Any suggestions on the measurements to achieve something close to that, I'd greatly appritiate. Once I have something to go off of, I can do a cardboard cutout to see how I like it... I tried to eye it to see something I like, but nothings just looking right. If it matters what kind of cabinet it is, its the one below...

It will be a 2 player 7 button ea panel, with a trackball in the center and a few buttons up top like the one above.

Thanks again for any help.

Can you draw the exact shape you want in Sketchup? Then convert it to DWG, and go to a water-cutting firm. Let them cut aluminium, lexan, wood or whatever you want to make your CP sandwich off.

Atomsmasher's measurements for his CP from his Project announcement thread. Atom's smaller version.
