Farb's Donkey Kong Restore *COMPLETED*
Farb:
Thanks for the info!
A quick update:
I just got back from Sherwin Williams to pick up blue paint for the cab. They recommended their "All Surface Enamel Oil Base Satin" paint since I plan to spray it with an air gun. I color matched to a large piece of wood from the inside of the cab that hasn't seen sunlight. Here's the formula they came up with:
BAC COLORANT 02 32 64 128
W1-White - 42 1 1
L1-Blue - 12 - 1
G2-New Green - 3 1 -
R3-Magenta - 1 1 1
We put some paint on the corner of the wood that was color matched. The color seems spot on - even in direct sunlight. The paint has a slightly glossier sheen than the original, but it's very subtle and won't even be noticeable once the cab is painted. In the pic below, the paint spot is circled.
Also attached is a pic of the cabinet as it stands prior to beginning the bondo repair process.

Here are some pics after bondo and sanding...

I created a makeshift paint booth in my basement storage room in order to spray the machine. As with Neil's restore, I decided to paint the inside black first.
Here's a pic after a few coats of black spray paint along the inner edge.

Here are the two front pieces after bondo and sanding. I'm in the process of priming the sides and front pieces with an air sprayer. I will post pics a little later.

Hey, nice restoration
I was wondering if you could give me the dimensions of the monitor backer and board, I am making a donkey kong cabinet, and jackobud's plans do not include these boards :(
Thanks!!
