:dunno I've searched and I've read but I still need guidance. I using a Compaq Presario 5284, and I have traced the power button wiring to the motherboard. It appears there are five wires there, (red, orange, yellow, green, and blue). I would like to rewire the power button to a pushbutton microswitch some where on the cabinet. I am not sure which wire(s) are my ground and live wires to the power switch. Any assistance in diagnosing my power button wires is greatly appreciated :dunno |

it should say "power" on the motherboard itself right beside the correct pins. only 2 are needed to power on. when your pc is off, use a screwdriver and touch 2 pins at a time, when fans start turning you'll know you hit the right 2 pins that need to be wired. |
