Media Center Like Front End
« on: May 04, 2011, 08:53:18 pm »
I am setting up a media center/arcade like pc.  It is made out of a broken NES machine I have.  I am looking for a front end that I can customize using a NES theme.

I was wondering if i front end exists where i can add apps, like a youtube, hulu, internet browser, etc.

I have used maxiums in the past and i love it (even though it appears to be dead now).  But with maximus I could not add youtube apps or get to the internet browser without exiting the front end.

I am thinking that I just have to do a media center setup with windows 7 (which is on the box) but I wanted to see if there was an front end alternative before going that route.

Or maybe look into XBMC (http://xbmc.org/)

Can add programs from within the interface for youtube. No browser though (as far as i know) but u could launch any browser from the program's menu.

GameEx definitely comes to mind for what the OP is looking for.
Old, but not obsolete.
