Is it bad that I find this tempting?

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

Yes it is. You should avoid that machine.
Unless you're super desperate and have no cabinets in your area and possess no woodworking skills whatsoever.

Cabs surprisingly hard to find around here, I'm working on it though lol. I do have access to alot of free exotic plywood, Maybe I should go see what I can dig out of the rejects and cut down.

Looks like Sears is becoming a little desperate. That's less than half the original price.

I don't believe these are 'real' cabs (what we think of that is).

I bleieve those have cheap TV's...

But for 600, it might be a perfect start for someone...

stay away from these things at all costs.

They have a 19" tv hooked up to one of those tv games dealies and really shoddy controls.  In a 1/2" thick cabinet.  They are also very small.  You would have to hunch over to play it.

Don't these use one of Clay's emulator boards ? Not quite the same a tv game dealie.

Having said that, I agree with pretty much everything else.

One thing people need to remember is that these were never designed to be attractive to people like us, they are targetted at a very different market and, to some degree the size/construction was determined by shipping and packing requirements.
