Saw this on Saturday. While it was good, it wasn't nearly as good as it is being made out to be. I have to agree that the acting was superb...up until the climax.

My main gripe about the movie was also the highlight of the movie: They made the mechanics of the suit 'believable', but then everything else in the movie was utterly un-believeable.

The whole beginning when he was building the suit irritated the crap out of me.  The fact they let him build that stuff was ridiculous. The main bad guy SAW what he was doing, looked at the blueprints, etc. He STILL let him continue.

In closing, Downey Jr. was excellent. Put anyone else in that role and the movie would have been worse than DareDevil. The plot...well I'll just say that Downey was great again!

Generally, that's how I felt about it too, though not necessarily for all the same reasons.  I really enjoyed it, but I don't think it's as good as either of the first two Spidermans or first two X-Men movies.  On the suit part, didn't they think he was building them that missile that he demoed to the military?  I got the impression that they couldn't make out the blueprints for the suit because you had to lay them all on top of each other in order to see what they really were.

A coworker and I were discussing the blueprint thing. I mentioned the villian picked up the whole stack and looked. Coworker said that they were held like a hand of cards, so it wouldn't show up. Its really irrelevant though - once you see the dude start strapping pneumatics to his leg and testing, it is time to tug on the leash.

The guy has a flying robotic suit powered by a pace maker that was all build in a cave, and the leg testing is the scene that's to unrealistic?

Besides they did tug on the leash.  After seeing the leg testing they threatened to put a piece of coal in the other guys mouth for lying.

The part after the credits was obvious, the only interesting thing was the actor they used.  Otherwise I wish I would have just read the ending online before seeing the movie and saved myself 10 minutes of watching credits.
