just saw this on an imax screen. this rocks! i really enjoyed it. robert downey junior is great, as is jeff bridges (he really makes that bald headed, bearded look work!) and gwyneth was great too.

oh, and there is a little bit after the credits if you havent watched it yet. i always stay until after the credits (even though the cleaners make me feel guilty) and sometimes you get a little reward. i also play 'spot mo henry' in the credits...

I was debating whether to see this or not (based on the flops in the comic movie past) but if you like it then I probably will too.

This morning I listened to Mr Movie Phone on a local radio station, and he's usually on the mark.  He says this was the best comic book to movie he’s seen.

He said that the first block buster movie of the summer usually reflects how good the rest of the summer movies will be and with that in mind this is going to be a great summer for movies.

He added that he had no idea who Iron Man was so he had no expectations for this movie.  He was suprised at how gret the movie was and now Iron Man is his favorite hero.

If anyone is interested he also said that Made of Honor was the crappiest piece of crap in crap town.

LOL

His ending comment was if your wife is under 40 you'll be forced to watch Made of Honor, and after watching that turd she’ll have no excuse not to see Iron Man with you.

I don't really understand why, or even how this could be true.  For the rest of the summer movies to be good, multiple unrelated studios have to have actually made good movies.  These movies have been in production for many many months. I don't understand how the quality of Iron Man can possibly have a positive effect on the quality of dozens of unrelated films from a myriad of unrelated studios.  If it's not able to positively affect the rest of the summer releases, I don't know how else it could have any predictive ability.

With that said, Iron Man does look really good.  I really can't wait to see it.
